Have you stared into photos or pictures so hard yet you feel you have not seen it enough? I love these photos, from vintage Photo Viewers we’ve been collecting, which are series of pocket photos collected in one uncut slide. I love to unroll them and look and look, and my heart skips a beat as if I could have been there. Thump – thump – thump.

The right looking soil can influence the beauty of your indoor plants. Try to find very dark soil if you are using white pots. I like plants without big flowers, because I love the spectrum of green plant life has to offer. Our greenhouse is undergoing a haul, and in a few weeks there should be more babies – for sale!

Of course HY is the one with the green fingers. Mine is only good for pointing.

My mother told me that the funny thing about cashew auntie is that she doesn’t actually know how to bake. She knows all the proportions of things, she makes the dough, she cuts the dough into funny little crescent shapes, but she does not know how to operate the oven. That’s because my uncle did all the baking for her, but he passed away a few years ago. Last year was the first year she baked without him and all the cookies turned out a little burnt. She blamed the maid. My mum says cashew aunt is like a celebrity chef.

This year the cashew cookies are the best cashew cookies in the world. I don’t know who has finally learnt to operate the oven, my cashew aunt or the maid.

I cannot decide if I like this or not. You know I like the song, the title… but parts of the video just do not sit.

I’ve read that she protects her image a lot. HY told me this morning that only illogical people are happy, because people are not constructed to be logical. Let her tell you this. Or we might turn this into our new zine topic.

We’re at the store today, for wandering types and the trustless.

The rain has cleared today, and some birds are singing. My heart is heavy, toiling bells only I can, but I know from experience we learn from loving, and forgetting.

Oh. But some of us are born with a heavy, leaden heart.

That’s what our first store has become now. A boutique hotel. In its shophouse days, we lived inside for a year with the dog, taking out the rubbish only at night.

Last night when I got out of the cab along its kerb, it occurred to me if I should ever forget, I will not.

The above mannequins and angels greet us when we come home, the former from our first store days, the latter from my uncle who wants to sell the ‘garden’ piece in our store. He had dreams of the angels staring at him …

But that’s not why it has not been offered for sale at Stevie. He bought it at Carrefour.

Beauty has a way of attracting dust, standing above.

Cat joins in with a tinkle at the end, so wait for it.
